This year’s Baselworld was another great watch show full of exciting and interesting announcements for watch geeks like me.  During the week, Breitling announced two new pieces for Bentley: The Bentley GMT Light Body B04 chronograph and the Bentley GMT Light Body Midnight Carbon.

Both watches capture the essense of Bentley by featuring luxurious materials and focusing on design elements inspired by Bentley’s cars, including the Continental GT.  The bezels of the Breitling for Bentley watches are knurled, evoking the in GT’s interior.  The luxury continues with the high performance titanium watch case with its titanium and black rubber strap, very unique asymmetric lugs, and the ergonomically designed pushers for the chronograph.

The watches are powered by COSC certified movements designed to make managing their functions a breeze.  For example, to adjust the main hour hand to local time, you simply pull out the crown and turn it in either direction to adjust it in one-hour increments.  This action also adjusts the date in either direction.

The watches also have a handy travel feature: the rotating inner bezel bears the names of 24 cities, which enables an at a glance reading of the time in all the world’s timezones.

The dial featuring a stamped circular raised motif displays excellent readability, enhanced by oversized luminescent hands and hour-markers and red-rimmed counters reminiscent of Bentley dashboards. The Bentley GMT Light Body B04 Midnight Carbon model is also equipped with a transparent caseback providing a chance to admire the selfwinding B04 chronograph movement, which is certified by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute) like all Breitling for Bentley ‘engines’.
