Specific for the Chinese market, Rolls-Royce has unveiled the Rolls-Royce Ghost Eternal Love. The four door’s central design theme surrounds a swan design as a tribute to love.
With a dramatic slowdown in the Chinese luxury market, Rolls-Royce is looking to attract customers and display their bespoke skills with a continuous flow of custom vehicles.
For this special Ghost, Rolls-Royce’s bespoke team used ‘love birds’ as the inspiration. According to Rolls, “In both Eastern and Western culture, the swan’s gracefulness and fidelity make it a symbol of purity and loyalty. Unions between swans are sustained for years, even entire lifetimes, creating a bond so deep that a partner has been known to take its own life when its lover dies. Thus in traditional Chinese culture, swans are known as ‘love birds’ for their genuine commitment to everlasting love.”
Inside the Ghost, the swan and love red motif covers the interior. Swans are hand-embroidered into a two-tone exterior of English White and Silver Satin. The interior leather is Seashell, whilst the headrest embroidery, seat stitching and interior car roof are Hotspur Red.
The clock on the dashboard has been painted to match the Bespoke Tudor Oak wood panel in the car. Personalized and illuminated treadplates both bear the words ‘Love is Eternity’. The interior is finished off with a two-tone steering wheel and the standard Ghost instrument panel.
The Ghost Eternal Love rides on fully polished 20” forged alloy wheels. Under the hood, the same 6.6 litre twin-turbo V12 powertrain and an eight-speed ZF gearbox power it down the road. The car uses Rolls’ Satellite Aided Transmission which anticipates changes to the road ahead to select the appropriate gear, allowing the Ghost to achieve improved fuel economy while making sure the right gear is available when a hill or slow-moving vehicle needs to be overtaken.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars unveiled the only-for-China Ghost Eternal Love at the Minsheng Art Museum in Beijing earlier this month.
