The Goodwood Festival of Speed is underway in Goodwood, UK, just down the road from Rolls-Royce’s home base. On the course this year from the luxury automaker are two new Black Badge vehicles: the Wraith and the Ghost. The Black Badge is a new styling package from Rolls that has all the exterior brightwork including the Spirit of Ecstasy painted gloss black. Inside, both cars are styled with Black and Muello Red contrasting leather and aluminum-threaded carbon fiber paneling.
Both cars have increased power over the base car. The Wraith has 50 more lb ft of torque along with a stiffer air suspension and a tuned transmission ECU for sportier shifts. The Ghost has an increase of 40 hp and 45 lb ft of torque.
How easy is to light up the Wraith’s rear tires? Flip off the traction control to find out:
Rolls-Royce says they built both cars specifically for the event. They didn’t say if anything was done to the cars that make them different from the cars they build for customers.
Rolls also has a fleet of cars on site to shuttle VIP guests from the event to the factory for exclusive tours. They company is using the hashtag #blackbadge on social media if you’re looking for a way to search for Rolls-Royce specific content.
