A representative for Andrew Palmer has released a statement to sportscar365.com. In part the statement said, “As Andrew continues to recover, we are all very grateful for the overwhelming support from the entire motorsport community.”
It continued: “Andrew has demonstrated great strength and shows signs of improvement everyday, and, although we are not yet in a position to give an update on Andrew’s long-term prognosis, we are remaining positive.
“Your respect of the family’s privacy at this time is appreciated.”
Bentley Team Absolute will field just the #88 car this weekend at Road America. Many competitors and fans are sporting stickers on their cars that read #getwellsoonandrew after Palmer was hospitalized in an incident during practice at Lime Rock Park. Palmer’s car collided with the Aston Martin of Jorge De La Torre. De La Torre was also hospitalized and has since been released and is recovering at home.
