The Goodwood Speed Festival begins tomorrow and runs through Sunday. The annual event always brings an incredible amount of automotive eye candy and this year will be no different. Bentley will have their Continental GT3 race car there to participate in the hill climb. The company will also have the brand new Bentley Continental GT V8 S on display at the super car paddock.
For all you history buffs, there will not one, but THREE, Bentley Speed Sixes there. Cars nos. 1, 2, and 3 will be reunited for a rare appearance. Car no. 1, you may know, won Le Mans in 1929 and 1930. Driven by Bentley Boys Woolf Barnato, Henry ‘Tim’ Birkin (1929), and Glen Kidston (1930), the car also won at Brooklands. Cars 2 and 3 were also raced in the 1930 LeMans race. The image above from the Bentley Archives shows car no. 1 in the front, with no. 2 to in the back. (Old no. 1 has a 4 painted on its grill.)
If you have some Bentley pics from the event to share, please email me or share them on the forum. Thanks!
